JOB SUMMARY:
Viva Railings is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive sales and promote our premium railing products in the dynamic and competitive New York and New Jersey markets. The ideal candidate will engage with Architects, General Contractors, Subcontractors, and Owners in this region, providing expert product knowledge and support, while being passionate about new business development.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Architects: Connect with architects in the New York and New Jersey area, forge strong relationships through product introduction, education, and by developing solutions for their specific project needs. Ensure VIVA Railings products are specified in their designs, keeping in mind local building codes and regional architectural styles.
- Contractors: Get VIVA Railings prequalified, establish rapport with General Contractors' pre-construction and estimating departments, bid on their upcoming projects, request specification substitutions, provide solutions for projects in planning or budget stages, and negotiate post-bid to close sales in the New York and New Jersey markets.
- Market Research and Relationships: Identify trendsetter ideas by researching the Northeast industry, events, publications, and announcements. Discover and explore business opportunities unique to the New York and New Jersey territory.
- Territory Management: Develop a deep understanding of the New York and New Jersey market, including local trends and customer needs. Utilize this knowledge in sales planning and territory management.
- Networking: Actively participate in local industry groups and regional trade shows and events to build relationships and stay informed about regional market trends.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience using consultative selling techniques in the New York and New Jersey market.
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM software, with a focus on managing relationships within the Northeast territory.
- Strong presentation skills, tailored to the unique business culture of New York and New Jersey.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction, with an understanding of local market trends in the Northeast.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial building product sales, preferably within the New York and New Jersey area.
- Experience with specification & consulting sales to Architects, with a focus on the New York and New Jersey markets.
